RTX 4090 Support

Like many others I'd imagine, I'm considering upgrading to a system with a 4090. Before doing so, I'd like to get some info regarding DS support for the RTX 4090. Ideally, it would be helpful to get some official info about support plans for both DS4.x and DS5.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any info or links to announcements.

Seconded. As its a major expenditure, I'd like to be able to plan out my purchase/use, if possible.
Thirded. I'd like to know if I will be able to use a 4090.
Is there even a version of Iray which supports them yet?
I bought a 4090, rendering looks okay. However I have an issue with dForce.
2022-10-13 22:17:20.498 [WARNING] :: ..\..\..\src\dzdynamicsengine.cpp(2489): ERROR: clEnqueueMapBuffer (-36)
2022-10-13 22:17:20.498 [WARNING] :: ..\..\..\src\dzopenclkernelfactory.cpp(32): Open CL notify: Unknown error executing clFlush on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (Device 0).
I've read in another thread that there were problems between dForce and the latest nvidia drivers, could it be related?
That's caused by the latest nvidia game ready driver and I had the same issue with my 3090. Using an older driver fixed it. Unfortunately you don't have that option as it's the 4090 launch driver.
Thanks, well... I'm desperate :D :D (I use studio ones, I'll try the game ready driver... who knows ;))
Congratulations on your purchase! The problem with D-Force is not because of the video card, but because of the new Nvidia driver.
Could you take part in Benchmarking of video cards? https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341041/daz-studio-iray-rendering-hardware-benchmarking Many people are very interested to look at the result of 4090.
For the 3090 game ready 522.25 is broken and studio driver 517.40 works. You might have the same issue but in reverse then.
Just did it
Yes, my only issue is dForce so far. Just installed the card :)
Cool, what a nice surprise. DForce has an issue with latest drivers apparently, so might not have anything to do with 4090. I see you used the beta. Does it render only there?
No, just I didn't want to change my settings on the released version of daz lol :)
That is great. Might wanna try how fast it is if you set power limit to like 70%.
Given that it currently uses max 285 out of 450W when rendering in Daz Studio that wouldn't change a thing.
Also, increasing the power limit by 33% (to 600W) won't do a thing either, because the card rendering speed is limited by current Iray version not taking full advantage of the new architecture.
Finally, Daz is way behind on Iray updates -- 2022.0.0 final (with support for emissive volumes) was released on August 8.
Iray doesn't use all features of the card so it doesn't draw the maximum power.
Damn it! Just installed the 4090 and it render like a flash, but dforce is not working, be it with the gaming or studio drivers.
I reported this to NVIDIA.
The problem is still there with the latest 522.30 driver :(
Here, too.
Using Studio drivers, of course.
Any walkaround? CPU?..
Use an older driver. nVidia ia apparently aware of and investigating the issue so we may hope that a future driver version will fix the problem.
I have the same problem

There's the old Studio Driver that works
Not, unfortunately, for 4090s
For those that purchased...keep an eye on them, especially for those of you who are also gamers. Some of them are melting the power cable inside the computer. :( Just a PSA.
Did you try the new GeForce Game Ready Driver Version: 526.86?
Yes, I have heard about this issue, as well, but nobody reported it here, so far.
My two cents. DO BUY A 4090 WITHOUT BUYING A PCIe 5.0 PSU; YOU MIGHT START A FIRE. This RTX 4090 GPU has a huge problem. It caught fire (msn.com). Do not use an adapter.
There's a few theories going around right now, but nothing difinitive just yet.
One theory is that the connectors aren't being plugged in securely (user error).
Another theory is that some sub-par connectors were shipped. Igorlabs' photos showed that the wires were gauged @150W, while GamersNexus's investigation showed his all were gauged @ 300W. Though, neither of those connectors failed, and as far as I know, no one has sent either Igorslabs or GamersNexus defective melted adapters for them to thoroughly investigate.
I have a theory that since the card is rated for 600W, but can run just fine on 450W, it may be possible that only 3 of the 4 connectors are securely connected and transient spikes are causing the draw to get close to the 600W range, which the 3 cables will happily provide but wind up causing overheating.
That said, CableMod is coming out soon(TM) with a 90 degree connector for horizontal mount setups. That should reduce the strain on the cable.
