Recommendations for at home 3D Optical Printers?

I'm not looking for a 3D printing service, I'm looking to buy an actual printer to make figurines at home.

Thanks

  • I have an Anycubic Photon. It, or its successors are great. Resolution is simply amazing. Slow, though. Great for figurines up to 125mm/5". Try to find non-allergenic resins. I developed an allergy to the standard resin, even when cured. Regards Richard.

In response to a PM, and to show how good a 2k optical printer is, I have attached three photos I took of my 90mm high Victoria 3 based 'Glamorous Vickie' by Jim Burton prints. The character is still for sale in the DAZ store, though the V3 Las Vegas hair is not.

I am allergic to the resin, so haven't been able to touch to dust them for 3 years.  Please realise that these prints are pretty much untouched after the supports were removed. And the camera was only 3" from the print. In reality the microstepping in the print is practically invisible to the naked eye even under the closest examination. They detail of the prints is exquisite compared to commercial cast metal models.

    Hope this helps,

    Richard.
