Genesis 8.1

OK, I've been out of the DAZ scene for a few years (learning ZBrush) and in the meantime, Genesis 8.1 has appeared (I have Genesis 8).
Now for the stupid question; how do I get myself a copy of Genesis 8.1? There doesn't appear to be a "Genesis 8.1 Starter Essentials" pack like with other figures and no search that includes the words, "Genesis 8.1" gives me less that 500 results (none of which are just Genesis 8.1).
Help! (please ;) )

Genesis 8.1 is part of the Genesis 8 Starter packs, Male and Female./
Ive got a similar problem and like you I couldnt find them. Now I know where they are thanks to ProPose, I've found none of the Genesis 8 packs have installed even though it says it has. Really stumped. Not sure what I have done.
More specifically, the Genesis 8.1 Starter essential files were added to Genesis 8 Starter essentials in January 2021 when G8.1 was released.
If one hasn't updated the G8 Starter Essentials after that date, one needs to do so to get the G8.1 files.
Daz Central has installed them but I cannot find them within Daz. I can manually download them but I have no idea where they should be installed to. Is it My Daz Connect Libray or My Library?
My Daz Connect library is for content installed from within DS. Don't install anything manually there, DS won't see it.
Think Ive just sorted it. Went back into DC and uninstalled the Genesis 8 and 8.1 stuff. Reinstalled Genesis 8 Started Essentials on its own and that is now showing up as available not a broken place holder. Once that had downloaded I'll add the rest and update.
Instructions for manual installation
Thank you! That one tiny extra bit of info did the trick. I had Genesis 8 but not 8.1 as my Genesis 8 Essentials was downloaded quite some time ago.
Reading the total confusion about what to instal where makes me very happy that I decided very early on (DAZ 3 something) that I would instal all of my content manually. The way it gets installed leaves people spending hours looking for stuff they know they have but can't find. I mean, when installing, who cares about which content provider made whatevr piece of clothing/hair/skin/etc??
Personally, I spend hours organising my files to weed out all of that crap.
You just need to know which folders you can change and which ones you can't.....
+many. I think the time I spend organising my files manually is more than paid back later when I can FIND them :)
I couldn't agree more (with myself and you, ha ha). When it gets more complex than my brain can cope with I also create a folder that mimics my DAZ file layout and put a clearly descriptive image (from the promo pix) for each character, clothes, hair, etc. I put this on my desktop, away from my DAZ library so I don't accidentally end up having the two mix (it's happened before with other programs that have a search engine with more brains that me........
