Why do I keep needing to install?

Daz Central constantly marks products, some years old, as needing to be installed, even though said products are installed and usable in Daz? Why is this?

I don't use Daz Central but have you ever allowed DazStudio itself to connect/login? If so then the Daz Connect from that process is likely causing conflicts in the same way it does for those of us who use DIM for installation.

No, it's not updates, I think it's some kind of bug... I think. I've had this happen to me before, it's like some random stuff, the default resources, ext. I believed the pop-up the first few times and just reinstalled everything. Now I just ignore it.

I think it's from having multiple install options used and multiple drives/ custom folders. I could be wrong. But it's a false warning. At least for me, and also looks like the OP.

Narrowing down and addressing the bug would be difficult, I always thought it was just me or something I did, but the bug I encountered seems to be about the same as OP's bug.

Edit: Side note, I don't get this with Central, but with DIM, and while it used to happen relatively frequently, it has pretty much stopped lately.

Don't feel alone. I've had several products disappear from my computer. I came here to re-download Classic Tuxdedo for G3M because I just discovered that it is no longer on my computer. This happens at random, it seems.

  • For me Daz Studio was worst on that. All sorts old and new products kept showing under updates...

So i switched to DIM and run Studio offline now. Installation isn't fully clean though, as i did DIM and then some Studio due to something not working for a moment in DIM. So at some point i will probably redo that all once more.

Might be worth installing 'problem' products via DIM.
