What are the under the hood changes on Genesis9 ?

[What are the under the hood changes on Genesis9 ?] I ask that question, because I wanted to scale the thighs into x- direction and it didn't work.
The dial was not locked and the bounding boxes were following the values, but the actual thigh body part did not change. The same procedure worked as expected on the shins, but neither on thighs or shoulders.

Why is that? I never had this happen.

Have you looked at the skeleton?

There's also a lot of proportion dials on this thing already. Like, as a PA, I'm supposed to break my characters into three components now.  The usual head and body shapes, but now also a proportions preset.  This is meant to maximize compatibility with other shapes, expressions,  and clothes.

Body parts don't have an x, y or z scale though, only a single scale. How are you doing an x-only scale on shins?

You have to go to unhide hidden parameters in the parameter options, then you can see scales, hidden JCMs and everything. Each body part has the full set of parameters some are locked some not.
this was my prefered way to set custom proportions on G8. It doesn't seem to work the same as G8 anymore.

I know the proportion dials, but I like doing proportions by hand.

Check out the skeleton.  I haven't experimented with this, but it might be that you have to select one of the new child bones in the thigh as opposed to the main bone

Oh yes, you're correct. There are two twist Child bones. Twist 1 scales the upper part of the thigh, twist 2 the lower part.
    That's it. Thank you.
