I am having postgreSQL cms error again

I were posted a discussion about it but i were moved to new pc and it was working fine but i moved to new city with my old pc for educational porpuses and now i installed daz3d again and i am getting the same error which says "A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established". And i cant login or reimport the metadata of the files that i already downloaded. I really could use some help here.

Btw when i try to install postgre sql after i deleted it from DIM windows gives an error message which is added in attachments. It is in Turkish language but here is translated exact words:

app name: windows driver model

error: Another version of this product is already installed. Cannot continue installation of this version.

Use "add and remove programs" in control panel to configure or uninstall an existing version of this product

but i cannot see any postgre sql file there

  • Applications installed through one of the Daz installers will not appear in Add/remove programmes. it dos appear that PostgteSQL is installed, so the issue islikely to be something blocking communication, bad settings, folder permissions or space, or a corrupt database.

  • So how could i fix the problem here. I can set daz3d's ports to get accesses from antimalware programs but idk about the other things
  • What security software are you using?

  • I am only using windows defender and i entered daz3d's ports and applications to allow udp and tcp. But my already downloaded files arent appearing in the smart content window nor i can get any content when i open an old save file of mine. And i checked my content is downloaded in the folder which is in the window of content library. It is the My Daz 3d Library folder

  • Hey Richard thanks for your support, you were awesome as always. I have found and fixed the issue right now and i wanna explain it here just in case if anyone had the same issue as mine or just myself had the same issue again and forgot how to fix it.

I were checking out some of the old disscussions about postgresql and something catch my eye while reading them. It was the cmscfg.json file which is in the folder in both

    "C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms" and "C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\CMS" but also i noticed that postgresql's Cluster Data should be

    "C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\ContentCluster" in daz3d's >preferences > cms settings tab.

So i coppied the json file from "C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\CMS" and pasted it to both cms and contentcluster folders. Then i tried to start cms from preferences tab but it didnt work. But i noticed that my cluster data was showing the "C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms" folder so i changed it to contentcluster folder and tried it again.

    And suprisingly it did work.

But now i am going to open another discussion because i am getting this weird error which shows me nothing at all no info or nothing.

  • Nevermind i've fixed that as well. I just added the port of daz3d's cms to windows defender firewall. Which is default 17237

  • The contentcluster isn't needed in the path, it is added by PostgreSQL/DS (I'm not sure which). I suspect there was a permission issue with the existing folder, chnaging the name cause the system to create a new, clean folder without the issue.

I'm having the same problems but am on a Mac (Big Sur) using Bitdefender AntiVirus.  Where do I start?

  • Is postgresql installing? Does it run, according to the process list, when Daz Studio or one of the installer applications start?
