New to DS and cant load figures. I get an error message

Cant load figures or anything to a character figure. Fur instance, Kanade 8 or 8.1, I forget which, her body (figure) loads but I cannot add anything else to it. No skins, no hair, no clothes, no make up. Nothing. Am error pops up.

    Are you sure you have the correct figure selected that you want to load items onto (in the scene panel)

    as far as I kmow. I double click each item

    Make sure you have the figure selected if you are adding materials or poses. It's a good idea to have the figure selected when adding clothes or hair as then you do not need to use the 'fit to' command.

    yep, figure is not selected

    The cryptic error message is being worked on http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#4_21_1_4 though the Shader preset pop-up is not yet done.

    You have to make sure the figure you want to add the hair to is selected in the scene panel (normally at the right hand side)
