Iray question

I tend to switch between texture shaded previedw and iray preview quitre often in a session. Everytime I switch it reloads the scene, yesterday after updating my nvidia drivers, i was able to change display mode from texture shaded to iray and back without daz studio reloading. For about 30 minutes I was very happy, as this was a great feature and it was saving me lots of time, thought that thiso was becuase of the updated nvidia driver. Anyway this morining, studio is reloading the scene when i switch draw styles, My questiuon is waht is normal for daz studio? is it normal for it to reload the scene when switching draw styles or not?

    it shouldn't reload, and I haven't seen it do so on the few occasions I've tried using the Iray preview mode. It will switch to smooth shaded for a while as it prepares to draw the Iray sceen, and as you manipulate the scene, depending on your hardware (for me it can take a minute or so to redraw even a simple scene, which is why I rarely use it).
