I would like to hold a contest where I buy a gift for the winner here...

This is more a question for the admins.  How can I go about setting this up?  I would like to do a contest where I challenge artist to come up with reimaginings of themes such as mythology, other types of fantasy, sci-fi, super hero and such.  The prize will be more flushed out but it'll come out of my pocket in the form of a product or gift card to winner.  It'll be within forum rules for sure. :)

HI.   Have you looked at some of the long running contests in the forums, to see how they are set up.

There are the PCI contests each week in the PC, plus the monthly render challenge there.  Also there is a monthly New User contest, which is done on the lines of an ongoing tutorial series, so each contest helps build up a set of skills for New Users.  The Carrara and Bryce forums also run render challenges specific to the software. There is also the Freebie challenge in the Freebie area which has the prupose of showing newer usrs that you can do things without spending a small fortune on content.  And you can't forget Totte's whacky RRRR contest in the Commons.

Starting a new, Independant, contest is always possible, but you must realise that you will be competing with the exisitng Contests and Challenges, all of which, with the exception of the RRRR are sponsored by DAZ 3D, and thus considered As "Official" contests and having quite good prizes.

I'm perfectly okay with that.  My contest is a totally different type of challenge that will attempt to break down the walls of stereotypes.  I'm not concerned with competing with official or non-official contests, if people are interested in the challenge, I think they would try it.  But I'll never know unless I put it out there.  Plus, I'm paying for the prize out of my own pocket. :)
