products has disappeared from content library

IM says there are only a few things installed, daz central shows all of the many items are still installed, I have restarted

 

also there is no choice for charecters under people-g8f, there are clothers there, when g8f is clicked there are no icons to choose the g8f figure

i thought g9f was istalled and maybe version 4.21 but stil lsays 4.20

If what you meant was "products disappeared from Smart Content", there's a "Filter By Context" checkbox, make sure it is unchecked.

If products disappeared from "Content Library", it sounds like a problem with the folders in the Content Directory Manager.

WHERE WOULD I FIND HOW TO PUT THE PATHS BACK RIGHT AGAIN FOR "content library" with the folders in the Content Directory Manager?

If the paths seem correct for the installer but the files are not showing in the content Library under Daz Studio Formats then try downloading the script and dragging it into the Daz Studio Viewport: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start

I dragged it into the viewoprt and accepted wit the default items checked restarted but products tab still didnt show up

That would fix only missing content - if you don't have missing content (fiels not under Daz Studio, or Poser, Formats) then it wasn't relevant. What is it that is a problem?

there is no tab in content library that says "products" in collassped position it just says -daz studio formats-poser formats- other import formats

 

it is missing products and categories tabs

youre right

it was working fine,havent changed any settings, dont know if i need to be online to have products even show up in the content library but the computer is online

You don't need to be online, but you do need to have PostgreSQL installed, it should run when Daz Studio (or Daz Central/Install Manager) run, and it needs to be able to communicate (it uses Internet Protocol, but only locally). What security software do you use? Do you see postgresql processes in Task Manager (with More Details on) when Studio or one of the installers is running?

 based on this error message does anyone know how I can fix this

it was working fine until i opened IM and chose to update, or I may have just clised the dialogue, but after that time products isnt showing

It may be that soemthign has either corrupted the database or muddled the folder permissions, but there really isn't enough information. You could try seelctign a different folder for the database via Edit>Preferences>CMS Settings and see if it then works (with an empty database) - if so it's an issue with the existing dataabse or its location, if not it's a more general issue.

Most of the time it helps, it is worth trying, but in a few rare occasions a full system restore does the trick. Also helps to ditch unused apps. Backup often.

when i reopened daz i signed in and that was causing the whole problem, thanks for the help sorry for the mix ups
