Is this the future for male clothing?

Playing around and I found this.

When loading in the T-Shirt (which is posed on the male shape in the icon) onto the male shape there is serious poke through on the back of the shirt.

If you remove the male shape and dial in the female shape (or neuter), the shirt fits perfectly.

They didn't even bother to fit the male clothes to the male body shape.

Awhile back I posted tongue in cheek that DAZ may stop support for male figures and was admonished by a moderator because the slider will be there for male shape on the G9 figure.

They put the slider there, but between the poses and the clothes in the "essentials" package, they don't seem to be giving any thought to male figures.

  • Well you know, no one actually renders male figures. So why should it work properly?

This seems to be a collision thing on this specific shirt. None of the adjustment morphs I tried changed the clipping at all, but bumping collision iterations up to 6 fixed it completely. Also it seems to work better with Generic smoothing rather than Base Shape Matching.

No its not the future of male clothing - the morphs were lost in packing it all up. Daz is aware and it will be fixed with the next update.

Just have your male identify as female: Voila!

But seriously, I'm concerned about the same thing because I don't want neutered males in skinny jeans and halters. Hopefully the usual suspects will give us a few male staples that fit like men's clothing without shrink-wrapped pecs.

Yeah, the basic T-shirt is bad on both male and female morphs.  On female characters it's okay in A-pose, but fails in some other poses, and couldn't be fixed even expanded to 100%.  It'll probably get fixed eventually, but it's weird that such a simple garment would be screwed up like this.  I don't think they had their top people on this.

Happy to confirm that clothing does work like this in real life, and a shirt automagically becomes a woman's shirt when loaded on a woman. I've also never encountered clipping while swapping from a feminine morph to a masculine morph. No warping issues on autofit, either!

They had me and it fits perfectly when the morphs are not messed up ;)

So far that's not been my experience, in fact I've been very happy how male clothing look on the male morph :) Michael 9 looks AMAZING

Its not just the clothing the poses are all female, they haven't atlered them to suit the male - arching backs and stuck out bums. Honestly they don't appear to have put much effort at all into the male.

is this a hint that Michael 9 will be out sooner rather than later?

He is being worked on - so yes, definitely in the works for the near future :)

The autofollow on G9 is very good at stacking. Probably due to the way the shapes were made. So even more extreme combinations work decent out of the box.

    Behold "Victor 9"
    100% Victoria 9, -200% BaseFeminine, 30%Fitness,30%Muscular,30%Voluptuous

I had to use a smoothing modifier on the straps, but that's it.

    The essentials were updated.

Finally the T-shirt fits the male body.  It's the small things in life.

I was hoping that they might have included some appropriate poses for males, but sometimes we can't have nice things.

At the very least, male poses that aren't swayback and have their tootsies pointed like they're ready for a pair of heels. **rolls eyes**
