Unexpected problem with missing .DUFs - don't let this happen to you

It was really weird. I knew I had some, but the content manager couldn't find them. However, since I'd saved them off to a secondary drive, I decided to open up the computer and see if it was the drive itself. At that point, it became pretty obvious what the problem was... and where all the .DUFs had gone. (The picture speaks for itself.)
