Metadata missing

Since upgrading my version of ye olde Daz Studio to the new 4.8 I noticed a few odd things. Firstly, it didn't uninstall the previous version as older installers used to. Secondly, once everything was done, all of my content metadata seemed to vanish. This included custom metadata as well as previously installed items.

No problem, I figured, I'd just reprocess all of the old metadata so it would update. All seemed fine.

However, I'm still noticing holes. Patches where the metadata didn't seem to load correctly, or at all. So far I've been correcting this by manually adding in metadata, since it doesn't seem to do much to reload the old one. But only now am I realizing the gaps are a lot bigger than I previously thought.

So, any suggestions on how to fix these holes in a more time-saving manner? Any idea what might have caused the problems to begin with?

    Valentina or PostgreSQL?

Do you have 2 versions installed now?  Did you install one with DIM and one with the stand-alone installer?

Originally I had 4.7 and the beta of 4.8 installed separately. They shared metadata, so there was never any issues. Installing the full release version of 4.8 didn't give me an uninstall like previous versions, so I simply chose the same location as the old 4.7.

The missing items seem to largely be my own custom metadata as well as several items I installed through the Install Manager. There doesn't seem to be much link between what kept metadata and which items didn't though.

It sounds like database corruption -- since you have your exported user data, I would reset the database and see if re-importing works now.
