DS and DIM crashing on my system all of a sudden

I ues both DS yesterday, as well as DIM to download and install a couple products yeasterday. This moprning I tried to use DS to look at G9 a bit more. It starts to load but then crashes. I tried a couple times with no good result. Rebooted my system. Tried again. It loaded a few things and then crashed.

Figured I would try DIM to see about updates or whatever. It started the scan for products and then crashed. Tried it again, crash. So now eithe rof them will even load. When I tried DIM the second time the box popped up with all the items unchecked as if I've never used DS before.

Obviously something blew out. Not sure where to start to regain use without reinstalling everything.

my last Windows update was 10/11/2022, so no change there. I did not install the newest Nvidia Studio drivers, so that didn't change. I haven't installed any other programs. The last thing I've installed to DS was the G9 Starter Essentials.

EDIT: tried to do sceen shot and open Corel PSP ... got this error - so something blew out on my system...
EDIT: Where is the DS log file usually installed to?
EDIT: 300 gig missing on my hard drive. probably blew out some programs ... or a windows recovery point kicked in by itself or something.

well, it appears somehow my system reverted back to jan. 2022. I see no program installs or antything past that time. How can that happen?

  • Have you checked your file system? A corrupt file system can cause all sorts of weird problems on different applications.
