G9 Anatomical Elements Mats Missing?

When I apply the materials to a G9 male, with the anatomical elements attached, the mat does not apply to the gens. Is that just me, or did they not include mats for gens in this Expansion Bundle. I thought it would be a hierarchical material; that is, I thought it would apply to the gens and well as the rest of the figure.

Comments

  • There are no materials to match the base skins from the Genesis 9 Starter Essentials.

  • They chose not to include them. For whatever reason, not told yet, they did not include mats with the G9 anatomical elements. They had a chance to do a good job with this product and improve our opinion of this release and they blew it.

Thank you both for your comments.

  • You can take the UV and make your own. It is easier to use a 3D paint program that lets you paint across seams. I have 3D Coat and Blacksmith 3D. You can save money and just do it in GIMP but it will not be as clean.

  • If you bought Vic 9 then there are mats in there for the male anatomy.

well, Victoria 9 is also missing any makup options, now sold serparately, but used to be included in V7 and V8, so it kind of explains the general direction Daz decided to take

also note 2 patches to G9 and V9 already since the launch, anyone seen a changelog for those?

I opened a ticket couple days ago and posted a thread in technical section explaining a bug trying to apply materials to G9 eyes when there is more than 1 G9 figure in the scene, no response to the ticket, no response in the thread...

edit: and it looks like they managed to screw something up with the Vic9 update today, I used only Daz original morps on the face, nothing too heavy, then used the edit>adjust bones to shape, like I always do after morphing, and now the eyes and eyelids move in exact opposite way, move eyes down, eyelids move up, and vice versa

so I'm guessing we're all just betatesting this fantastic new product of theirs...

You could use the free Alternativ UV map for G9 female anatomical elements:

  • I have a separate question regarding the female Anatomical elements regarding "functionality". There aren't any morphs or pose controls to "open it up", so to speak, to allow "intimate interactions", whereas the male Anatomical elements is fully rigged and "functional". Was this the case with the previous models?

Yes, and it's a bit of a stretch to call the male anatomical elements "fully functional". The options available on Renderotica (I recommend Meipe's) give you much more control over them.

Except I don't think Meipe has one for the G9 yet. Or, is there one? But, yes, there will be many more options.

I haven't checked for G9 gens yet; I was just answering the question of whether it's always been that way.
