Daz says a file is "missing" but it is in the folder...

I tried loading my "Pia HD for Genesis 8 Female" character and Daz says "PiaEyesB_1006.jpg is missing." So I deleted the character and reinstalled. I tried loading again and get the same statement. I see that the file PiaEyesB_1006.jpg IS in the folder Textures/Emrys/Pia/.  The file is not missing, and is in the correct folder according to the product list. What can I do to get Daz to see the file?

Thanks!

There was a persistent syntax error in many products that used to pass unnoticed until Studio v4.20 (IIRC) .

There is a double slash ("//Runtime/...") in the path for the eye textures, in the main character files and sometimes the material presets (but not this time). They have been systematically updated, and obviously not completed, but if you do not want to wait, you can simply edit the Pia.duf file yourself. Replace the "//Runtime" with "/Runtime" (without the quotes)

ETA: It should be reported via help ticket to get the official correction...

THere are several reason why a file may be flagged as missing when attempting to load an item.  In addition to the one pointed out by NorthOf45 which I have very rarely encountered, I have encountered the cases of

    • An extra space or a missing space in the file path in the coding of the base file that attempts to load the "missing" file.  I've corected this by opening the loading file in Notepad++ and correcting the error.  If the loading file is compressed, I've expanded it when I could and made the change.

    • Missing :Runtime or "Runtime in the file path in the coding of the base file that attempts to load the "missing" file.  I've used Notepadd++ to fix this too.

    • The file path for the missing file in the coding of the base file that attempts to load the "missing" file is similar but slightly different to the way the vendor has packaged the files.  I used to fix this by creating the "incorrect folder path" per the coding and putting the necessary files in that folder.  I've since changed to using Notepad++ to fix the coding in the loading file.

There are likley other cases that can cause the error.

And Content library issues like, nested content libraries and content installed with several methods (logging in to DS and using DAZ Connect being the culprit)

I wasn't speculating. I checked the product, which I have, and it is the double slash "//Runtime", three occurrences in Pia.duf.

the search function on this forum board is not ~fun~ you have to go to outside engines .

DAZ go to priuschat.com that is how a forum search FUNction should WORK.
