(G9) PBR skin makeup vs LIE

For Genesis 9 there is no lips surface, but there is a fancy new LIE for DS 4.21.

So I thought it shouldn't be too hard to make a lips mask and use that to change effect by using LIE.
And it turned out ok. Feel free to object 

After that I created some more masks, one for the upper eyelids and one for cheeks (for rouge).

Everything done in LIE, except the metallic flakes for the eyelids I decided to add, as there isn't metallic enabled for the base G9 (for logical reasons).

And during my messing around, I noticed the makeup channel. And that got me thinking of, what is actually the advantage of using that over just modify the existing channels.

The attached images is the base G9F, added lip color, added eyelid color with and without metalic flakes, and finally with some rouge.
