Why no "backside" promos?

The new Peppa bikini is another example. Why is it not possible to have at least one render which shows the back of the character so that one can see how the clothing looks from the back. Sure you have sometimes a render of just the product without the character. But it is very hard to get an idea from that.

Don't know why each and every real clothing online store can provide such images whereas a store for digital clothing can't. I mean prices are becoming more and more the same at least.

  • There is the 'empty' bikini front view which is a mirror image of the back view shown here:

Shows the back does not have a great deal of coverage, and the top line is similar to the one at the front. Not ideal, but it should be possible to get a general idea before purchase.

Yes, not showing the backside of the product is one of the common problems with many promos, unfortunately.

Just be thankful you've got shoulders!

You do recall that the shoulder thing, for which we never had official confirmation anyway as I recall, was specifically in respect to apparently under-age characters?

For that outfit, surprisingly enough, there is a backside shot but on the main page of the model for it here: https://www.daz3d.com/mso-peppa-hd-for-genesis-9

it's the last image. If you look carefully you can also see the lines of the bottom piece. Another chiming in though for clear promo shots being desired. I wish every promo of outfits included a front and back of a grayed out model with front and back shots of all the included items.

There is no back shot because the bikini bottom shows too much flesh. I had to modify the transmap of the sarong so nothing shows, otherwise back to rendering promos again. smiley

YAY I could post without timing out! surprise

Looking at the back in the main promo- I wondered if that might have been the issue. If that is so, is it not possible to do just do a torso/store display style (head/leg-less in gray or wood materials) promo to show what it looks like without it being too revealing? BTW the new girl looks great and I definitely was waiting to see what you would do with the new generation :)

I think the bottom is too revealing even for clay renders. I know SC had some back renders but he probably had to take them out. But we will ask Daz.

Thank you! I'm glad you like her laugh I sweated bullets making her with the eyes and mouth a separate mesh and all.

DAZ does have certain requirements for renders, even with the new filters in the store, and the PAs have to follow them.

  • It's a thong, it will basically look like every other thong on the planet. Bottom line the store has rules it follows.

    Ah, yes... To quote Shakespeare...

"Does not the thong of the king appear the same as the thong of the beggar?... Do not all thongs on god's good earth appear the same to the eyeballs that behold them?"

Or something like that... pretty sure it's in Macbeth or that one with the talking donkey and the green guy.

It all comes down to the Daz3D trying to have their cake and eat it to.

"We'll let you sell these cheesecake outfits, but we're not gonna let you show off how the figures will look in them, from the exact angle people are gonna actually render these from!"
