Features request: Apply to all

I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same as I do, but I use the autofit feature regularly to apply previous generations wardrobe items to G8 and it isn't always logical. When the box pops up I tell it which generation the item was intended for from the first drop down, then I click 'Accept'. There is a short delay, and I am asked again for the next item, and the next and the next. For whatever reason there is a delay displaying these options, so I'm clicking on a dropdown that doesn't appear straight away.... and if I'm doing this for a shirt, pants, jacket etc etc etc it can be a little frustrating.

Is it not possible to put a check box that allows the user to apply the same option to all? Like when you are copying files in the OS and you can make 1 decision and it automagically doesn't ask you a hundred times if you're sure you want to overwrite these files.

  • As far as I know each load is a single, self-contained operation, so I don't think it would be possible to ask in advance and remember the response across each load as the situation stands.

  • One thing you CAN do, once you've converted the old items to fit the new figure, is save them as Figure/Prop assets (File > Save As > Support Asset > Figure/Prop Assets...). Then, when you want to use that item in future you can load the already-adapted version.

This also has a benefit for the file size of your scenes. If you take an old outfit, autofit it, and save the resulting scene, it makes for a big file size because all the geometry of the modified outfit is stored within the scene. Once the outfit is saved out as a support asset, the scene file will be much smaller. I use lots of older content, and before I realised this I had huge scene files that took ages to load and save.
