Camera Angle

I'm trying to rotate the camera to 45 degrees compared to my asset in the viewport. It's for making an isometric view

for an rpg game I'm making.  I can't find a single video after 2 hours of searching on youtube of what would seem a very basic function.

Maybe it's very simple, but I'm still new to learning all the tricks of using daz.

  • Someone smarter in Daz than me will probably come up with a more elegant solution but, here goes

Create a "null" object and parent it to your asset.

Create your camera, parent it to the null and under camera setting set "point at" to null object

Select your null and rotate it 45 degrees.

I found this on Wikipedia if it helps.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_projection

In a similar way, an isometric view can be obtained in a 3D scene. Starting with the camera aligned parallel to the floor and aligned to the coordinate axes, it is first rotated vertically (around the horizontal axis) by about 35.264° as above, then ±45° around the vertical axis.

  • Try turning Perspective off, in the camera's Parameter settings
