Daz Studio 4.8.0.59 Pro Edition 64 Bit Smart Content Issues

I've installed Daz Studio 4.8.0.59 Pro Edition 64 Bit to a non standard locations. Basically default paths except on a drive other than C.

The install went smoother than mostbut I've ran into some oddities.

1. Nothing shows in my smart content and I'm not sure how to get that stuff back. It's all there and usable under the Content Library, it just doesn't show under Smart Content.

2. I have entered my serial number several times and the check mark appears as expected. However when I go back to check under the Register Daz Studio, it is always blank. Is this normal functionality?

3. Lastly, I only have a choice of Darkside, Highway or Main Street as styles? Weren't there more before? Is there a way to get all the styles back?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Brent

    1. Is this the first tiem you have installed to this machine?

    2. I have a row of Xs and a tick above the field in the Register dialogue - if you see that it's normal.

    3. Not with DS4 - indeed Darkside was a later addition. DS3 did have more styles.

How did you install the content, or did you copy over your old content folders?

I installed everything with DIM but it took a while to get the settings the way I wanted with regards the installation path. It's the 2nd time I've installed it on this machine but I did wipe out everything prior to reinstall.

Likewise I have the xxxxxx and the check mark above the slot of the serial number.

    Thanks for the info Richard.

If you had a previous install it's possible that the CMS is still pointing to the original locations - assuming you have no customisations, try opening the Content Library option menu (lined button in the top corner or right-click the tab) and selecting Content DB Maintenance from the menu. In the dialogue check Reset database and click Accept. Now open the Content DB Maintenance dialogue again and check re-import metadaya, then click Accept and again in the next dialogue.

Presets are also all missing for my shaders. Don't know if that points to anything else in particular.

Is the CMS actually running? If you luanch DS, then start Task Manager (right-click on the task bar) and look in the processes tab do you see entries for PostgreSQL?

I do not see a PostgreSQL running.

OK, if you look at the Services tab of task Manager do you see DAZ Content Management Service listed as running?

  • GreybroGreybro Posts: 2,502

No, I don't see DIM or anything like that there. There's something called DCOmm launch but that's a windows process
    I think.

What security software do you use?

I was using Macaffee Anti Virus but it just expired.

Is it possible to download just content manager and reinstall that?

Conten Management should be installed already. It installs with DS. Are you installing with DIM or manually installing.

It didn't install with DS for me, there was a separate Postgres 32/64-bit install within DIM.

In your Product library, I think search for "postgreSQL CMS"

So, after re-instaling the postgreSQL CMS exe and repeating the steps above, the smart content library is back! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thanks for hanging in there with me!
