Animating in Blender over Daz?

I've seen a lot of people prefer to animate in Blender, and I know Blender is a tool better suited for animation but I'm just trying to understand what specific advantages that offers.

Is it mostly about the management of keyframes etc, or does the animation (smoothing between keyframes) actually produce better results in Blender?

I've always found Daz animations to look very robotic, so I was wondering if this is just down to the skill of the animator, or the animation software/tools also.

DS isn't very well-suited to animation for a number of reasons, like viewport lag, inadequate physics systems and underdeveloped IK. Also, Iray is fine for stills, but the lack of motion blur makes animations look overly smooth.

    Thanks for clarifying.

I'm finding the rigging in Blender a bit strange as of course the Daz figure isn't native to the program unlike in DS. Do people tend to pose using the default Diffeo import, or do they use Rigify/MHX?

I guess what's strange to me is that Daz excels at posing its characters, and given much of animation is posing - isn't it odd to trade this for less bespoke rig options?

I don't use Blender myself, so I can't help you there. You're better off posting in the Blender subforum. I definitely agree that posing is DS's greatest strength, and my ultimate dream is for DS to basically become a plug-in for other programs, so you can load figures and pose in whatever program you're using (I'm a C4D user myself).
