Convert a png render to a prop

Can I convert a png render to use as a prop in my Actors, Wardrobe, Props file?

  • Probably not,  but there is not enough information on what you are trying to do.

  • Not convert directly, but you could apply your PNG to a plane to have it show in in your scene as a 'Billboard'.  You could then save the result into your asset library for reuse.

Is that what you are trying to do?

To expand a little on what Bartleby said above... an example of a  "Billboard" might be a leaf or character where the area around the subject is transparent and in the case of certain types, set up to face the camera, so for example one could create a crowd of people in the background, like older video games often did...

Something like this... (this image was intended for different software, but the concept is the same)

I think this thread might explain it better... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/451376/adding-a-transparent-png-to-a-plane

If you are looking to generate 3D geometry from a png, I'm afraid DAZ Studio doesn't do that at this point in history.
