I like to render a scene in parts most of the time.

So I render the full scene to get the right light and shadows.
Then I remove the environment and render just the characters so that I can edit them more easily. The only issue is that depending on the scene, the light can drastically change when removing the environment. Is there a better way too do this that effects the lightning less?
Like a plug in that can free set parts in the render and only render specifik parts in the scean or something like that.

Is this memory-management or wanting to be able to isolate parts in the final renders, then composite?
