Where are the character UV sets located?

I downloaded a UDIM UV set for Genesis and Genesis 2 characters (so they will work better in Substance Painter). I placed them in the Data…UV Sets folder for each character, but I can’t find them in the Parameters folder. I vaguely remember seeing that option years ago, but can’t find it now. Help!

In the surfaces tab, there is a UV Set, where you can select which UV to use.

  • I'm wondering what issues you had because...  you don't really need any of that to get Genesis into Substance Painter; assuming of course we're talking about 2022. Painter is quite capable to auto-unwrap Genesis on its own, no issues at all. The only thing you need to do is to apply the right texture maps to the right Substance graph channels, and make sure you apply the right shaders.

I've been going at it all weekend so far, from Genesis (1st gen, one of my favorite characters is still on 1) right up to 8.1. I don't see any issues at all, at most some strict edges between texture sets, but that isn't related to UV but rather the effects you apply.

FYI: I am using the latest version of Substance Painter that supports UDIM UV tiles.

I want to be able to paint a stroke that will apply from a character’s head down to his fingertips or toes. UDIM UV tiles allows this. The individual tiles only lets you paint on that tile, e.g. the torso. Then you have to go to the arm tile to paint on it. This is a pain. BTW: I know this works since I have been able to paint continous strokes on DAZ characters (like Mervin the Alien for Genesis 8) which has UDIM UV tiles.

    I forgot to add:

Thanks ShelLuser. I finally found it in the Surfaces tab. I don't know why I didn't find it earlier - I did a search for UV and nothing came up back then. But this time it did.

    Thanks again.
