When I reloaded the scene the work I did wasn't saved with the scene. I've not been using DS for a while now so just curious if I should save the scene is a specific way or what? Seems odd that this information wasn't written into the scene file when saved out.
HELP?

Clarify "the work I did". Some things like Geometry Editor hidden ploygons is not saved.
I'm working on finally releasing my Gino charcter but have work to do on him still. I improved his face and had to adjust his fibermesh eyebrows and when I did just the face yesterday and started up the saved scene today all the work I did on it was gone. Had to start over.
I wish the notifications were working correctly, you replied over 3 hours ago, I never got a notification! I am signed up with the gold star icon above but I guess the system didn't do what it was supposed to do.
I'm needing to hit the hay. So decided to take a chance on Saving "Modified Assets" to the data folder for both Gino and the brows. Fingers crossed that it remains when I start up the scene file tomorrow.
I hope you were able to sort out your problems with saving Ram...
Happens to me all the time and it's infuriating. I animate a sequence, save it to render later and when I reopen the file, usually 40 frames worth of animation is there and then anything after that is just gone. No clue why it happens and it's horrible.
Ah, so I'm no the only one!
Thanks Pen, not started up DS to load the scene to see if that saving the Modified Assets worked or not.
NOPE, didn't work. What a strange work flow this is turning out to be!
Did you try saving as a scene subset or a full scene? Scene subset seems to save my work.
I've done both before and it has happened with both. For me it's not every time this happens, but enough where I've lost many, many hours reanimating stuff.
Yea, I saved out the new data as a Morph data save and that worked. Currently I'm working on getting the fiber brows so the match the mapped brows so Gino has three option, mapped, fiber and combo (for a very thick look). Technique and old knowledge is slowly coming back to me.
There is an AniMate issue that has been fixed http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log_4_21_0_5#4_20_1_56
I don't use animate, I handkey everything. Plus it actually happens the most with camera movements.
