Howdy y'all!

I want to start making my own female characters for a game in UE4/5. I have found two morph products that are Daz Originals so I feel it's best to go with these because they're official. Will these morphs work on Genesis 8.1 as well?

Daz Originals morph links:

Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs

Any advice is appreciated smiley

The Genesis Base figure has an interactive license as well as the morphs. You are not making a unique model if you are using the base and morphs. You are putting it together from licensed products for which you buy interactive licenses to use in games. Your model is unique in as far as the final model will be different to what others may make with these same products. Even if you created morphs to change the model's appearance from scratch, the base would still require the interactive license.

edited to add: As for selling, you can, but you would need to save the model's so that it would require the customer to use the models involved to achieve your creation (the base, the morphs). If you made your morphs from scratch, then it would require the customer to at least need to use the Genesis base involved. If you made a model based on, say, Victoria 8 or 8.1, they would need to have Victoria 8/8.1 as there are morphs that go into making this model that are not contained in the base model alone.

Interactive license is needed when one uses DAZ Store bought assets in a game one makes oneself.

As far as know, one cannot distribute/sell DAZ Store bought assets to be used in other games, there is no license for that.

PerttiA is correct. I may have misunderstood depending on how you meant to sell the model.

That's no problem. So do these morphs work on Genesis 8.1 as well?

  • Thank you guys for answering my other two questions. I have removed those questions becuase I'm pretty concerned about making female characters for a game. But I see so many morph products and I'm kind of wondering which ones to buy. I need a face one and a body one. I'm also not sure if I should go with the newest Genesis 9 because I want to keep the game kind of light. Or is there not much difference is size from 8 to 9?
