Why can't some originally Livestreamed videos be edited to remove the "waffle". I want to learn how to do something, not listen to a one sided convo that's no longer relevant.

My father smashed another mirror today. Two mirrors in 15 months. Plus, he left the Christmas Tree up after twelfth night.

This is going to be one looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong week.

Auto insurance has been mandatory as long as I can remember in Massachusetts.  Way back, I only had the mandatory coverage.  Later, when I started buying new cars, I got the whole bit, collision, theft, etc.  And I never went with the higher deductible rates.  I'd rather not pay any more than needed when something does happen.  But when it's not my fault, I don't pay anything, the other motorist pays.  Still, the last accident I had that was my fault was in the early 1970s.  the last accident I've had at all was in the late 80s or early 90s.  I've had a few incidents where my car was hit while parked and I wasn't in it.

I can't get auto insurance as Daz models of cars don't have a VIN.  (Minor detail, even if I find a way to print one, it won't be considered a real car.)

When I was a kid 69 million years ago, all the houses had lightning rods attached to them.

The lack of them on today's buildings leads me to believe that maybe it was a bad idea.

Or that if not legally required then they're just cut from the budget.

Or if not a bad idea, perhaps just an insignificant one.  Of little help.  However, I can't believe that.  But I do believe that to be effective more of the time, a lightning rod needs to make more of a target of itself by being higher or more plentiful than the typical single chimney lighting rod.  Personally, I don't think you're safe from lightning unless you cage your house in a frame of rebar.surprise

that cute little Gecko will starve and be forced to eat that Emu... or possibly even Flo... and God only knows what a desperate General is capable of.

    Flo had it coming.

Also, it appears that, at least in the United States, all drivers have been trained to react to a pending collision by using the horn instead of the brake. When I ultimately become the ruler of the "Western World", one of my first iron fisted rules will be that all horns must be connected to the brakes. So it will not be possible to blow the horn without causing the car to come to an abrupt stop. I genuinely believe this will save lives.

I watched an accident unfold once where I was in back of a car heading towards a green light and up ahead was a car that got caught too far past the crosswalk when the light changed... the driver didn't know what to do, there was no traffic blocking the other side, so my guess is they thought maybe just go the rest of the way... in fer a penny, in fer a pound, eh... so they moved very hesitantly forward and the car ahead of me from far away started to lean on the horn, so the other car stopped in the middle of the intersection (flight or freeze instinct)

With literally a quarter of a block for either idiot to come up with a better game plan, I watched the guy in front of me drive right into the middle of other car... no brakes, no evasive maneuver, just the horn blaring until it melded with the other engine compartment paraphernalia...

Technically the brake lights did go on like three feet before t-bone time, but that doesn't count as actual braking.

That guy's entire defensive driving strategy was horn based... brakes were not an option... or maybe he was saving his brakes for more important stopping scenarios... who knows.

Horn guy didn't appear to be drunk either, just a real dumbass... I was stuck in back of him for an annoyingly long time to be pretty sure of that, and I'm convinced it wasn't malicious either... I'm convinced his plan was "live by the horn, die by the horn"...

The bizarre thing about this is it all occurred in relative slow motion... probably 15-20mph... so that quarter of a block before impact was actually a fairly long time to formulate a plan or maybe... crazy as it sounds... stop.

But no, the first nincompoop just drove right into the second nincompoop.
Ultimately both nincompoops appeared to survive unscathed... who knows, maybe they became friends afterwards and had a happy nincompoop family... (horn car was driven by a guy and t-bone car had a female at the wheel)...

I picture them having had little nincompoops running about crashing into each other and falling down stairs... I dunno, it's a kinda sweet image.
I only stayed around long enough to see that they could both exit their cars and yell at each other.

One thought thought for when you become overlord... forget the horn/brake thing, horns are annoying and should be removed, people abuse them and ultimately their primary function seems to be for lazy boyfriends to attempt to signal equally lazy girlfriends on the 75th floor of their apartment building, that they are waiting for them and they want to go NOW!!... honking for the duration of the waiting period.

A number of years back I was working on some universal dash-cam mount project at the design studio I was at, and we were talking about safety features and how cars went from steel dashboards to soft plastic, my friend who owned the place (he also intends to rule the world so you might have some competition) noted how while that's all well and good, making cars safer just encourages people to be stupider... his suggestion was cars should have a big huge butcher knife sticking out of the steering wheel... forget airbags... maybe for passengers, but the driver gets a knife pointed right at their heart... his rationale was simple... you have very little room for stupid behavior in that situation and are far more likely to behave.

Think about it, it could solve a lot of problems.

Also consider my aforementioned florescent orange traffic cone dunce cap of shame as a punishment for various moving violations... in addition to fines of course.

I like the knives on steering wheels idea.yes  In order to combat the Plague-Of-Stupid rampant in the world, I believe stupidity should be self-lethal.  Tomorrow I think I'll tear off the sign on my ladder that says "Don't Step Here" and put the ladder out on the street as a giveaway.  Mwa-ha-ha.devil

Wait... I thought that sign was less of a warning than a challenge... but either way... Free ladder!

Last time I saw a free ladder it was a nice one about 8 feet long, aluminum stepladder.  I was riding my motorcycle, and the ladder was in the middle of 7 lanes (my lane) of I-4 about a mile north of Universal Studios south of Orlando.  I didn't feel motivated enough to stop in the 70 mile per hour traffic and strap an 8 foot ladder onto the bike.  So I swerved around it and got off at the Universal exit(where I was headed), saw a cop car and reported the freebie.  I didn't hear anything on the news that night about a ladder or people dying in any accidents on I-4, so I assume that it, or they, suffered only minor injuries.  Nice ladder though.indecision

I feel stupid.  My room is clean, but I was told that I can't go anywhere until my room is in order.  I thought it was in order, but apparently not good enough.

Today's coupon gets the Victoria 9 mega bundle down to $47.25, which is really tempting, because I do want almost everything in that bundle, but I also don't have an immediate use for any of it, and don't have a lot of money.

The bus stop I need isn't marked.  I don't have time to guess where that stop is, nor do I want to walk to the nearest bus stop in the direction I want.  Worse case scenario I will take in bound bus and go downtown to catch the bus that goes near my house.

Went above freezing just an hour ago and expected to stay there for a week, usually we have below -10C (14F) down to -20C (-4F) here at this time.

well technically it was a reply to a post ypu removed too (I never got an email) but not being able to upload images has been an ongoing problem and the forum is littered with posts on it

mine was just a link to a post where I actually got one to upload demonstrating there are windows of opportunity where it sometimes works

...is there anyone working on this on the Daz end?

Bad enough we have to endure recurring bad gateway errors when composing pr posting comments now this. Crikey, the other day I was having trouble even trying to quote a post. I'd click on the button and nothing would happen for a couple minutes.  it wasn't my  connection either. as on other blogs and forums the response was almost instant.

I thought I was a huge Star Trek fan... I'm watching "The Center Seat", and I've realised that I'm not even close.

I've been trying to use the touch id on my iPhone, and I've just realised why it's not working. I've been doing more things (now that my Mum isn't well), and all of the hot water that I've used over the past few months has destroyed the tips of my thumbs.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. I just hope the doctors can still do something.

..well just had another package stolen, this time one that was delivered to my apartment door. This is the second time it has happened in a couple months,. This time however it was worth a bit more than the last one.  I called UPS and after several unsuccessful attempts at trying to circumvent their answering bot, I finally got through,  the person I spoke to is going too run an investigation into the driver report to see if it wasn't delivered to the wrong unit.

I also left a message with the front office and put notices up in the lifts as well.  Really getting frustrated with this as management used to have all packages delivered to the office and tenants had to sign for them. but then didn't want to deal with it anymore and had UPS,/USPS and FedEx (except for Prime deliveries which are already delivered to the apartment unit) just leave them by the mailbox area. That was when the thefts began (I'm by far not the only person who's dealt with this).

The really bad part is we have many seniors and disabled who depend on medications to be delivered. which if stolen can take time to get replaced due to having to file a claim with the shipper and all.  The police here don't care about stuff like this. so there's no point in contacting them. Like I mentioned earlier, they don't even care about enforcing traffic regulations.

One of the other issues we have is on residents "shadowing " residents who use their key sensor to get in.  When I see strangers just loitering right in front of the main door or making multiple attempts to use the intercom, I go around to one of the other entrances.

I was going to say somehing about the Wyvern 2 being on sale  but with all the depressingly crushing complaints already present in this past couple pages alone I don't see the point in trying to say anything to try and lighten the mood any - what possibly is there that could :/
