Is the Pisces HD Original Figure rigged so that it can be straightened rather than in the curved position shown in the promos?

    Yes it can be straightened... There are two figures in the set, a duo and a single figure who loads straight.  The figure has bend, twist, and side by side sliders for both the body and the tail, other textures, morphs to enlarge fins etc, and is excellent in general.

    I am pretty sure it's just a prop. That's why I didn't buy it.
