Nice!  I just saw that myself 30 minutes ago, downloaded and installed but didn't try it out yet.

ETA: I did a quick Dforce test with Linday's Romantic Curls Hair, it worked!  smiley
(Game driver, I tried switching to that after Studio Dforce driver was busted).

  • Note that some folks on the Nvidia forums are posting the this driver does not work with RTX 3060Ti/3070 cards, so may need to keep a rollback driver available just in case if you are running those GPUs.

Older drivers are available on the nVidia driver page. They go back pretty far, well before 517.40, the last working studio version before today's release.

Really sucks being a 3D artist, AND a gamer sometimes… Bah, I definitely need the studio driver more than for games anyway, thanks for the info OP!

The only difference between the studio driver and the game driver is how quickly they get released. The studio driver is on a slower schedule, with more testing and more feedback from users. In today's case, however, they were both released at the same time. Right now, they are the same driver.

    Good to know, thanks!

I actually make it a habit to DL both, just in case, maybe it's time to free up some space! ;)

Is strange that it is only those two models being affected with installation issues.

  • Just installed the new driver and did a quick dForce sim. Seems to be working OK with my 3070 card

Same.  This is good news. I've got a 4090 on order...

WOW Lucky you, yeah my 3090 is now a 3070 in comparison, heh, by the time I'm able to save up for one they'll actually release the 6090!

But yeah, it's encouraging that NVidia has not forgotten about us Daz users!

I'm memory starved right now at only 8GB.  Only so much you can do with 1 or 2 models, some simple props and lightning, and I'd like to broaden my horizons to be able to do bigger scenes.  I was thinking of getting a 3090, but considering the narrow price difference between the 3090 and 4090, I opted for the 4090.

    An incredibly wise choice!

Too many blew their money on 3060/70s that were nearly the same price as the 3090 during the shortage! All because they had to have it “right now!” Yeah, with the hefty memory, I can hold onto my 3090 for quite a while yet!

Are you using a intel or AMD CPU? Is it the old PCIE4 (PCI4???) or the new PCIE5 (PCI5???) bus?

So I have a RTX3060. Is that different than a RTX 3060 Ti? And should I assume that the driver isn't fixed for me yet?

They are the fixed for all versions of the RTX cards and for all generations.

  • Where is the link to the new Drivers?

    All I see is the R525 U1 (526.67)

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/194240/en-us/

nVidia has released a new Game and Studio driver (526.98)

Even the GeForce Experience App leads to the older one.

What did you select for options in the driver search? I get

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/194380/en-us/

    for Game Ready and

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/194382/en-us/

    for Studio

  • That did the trick. dForce is back in action.

    Thank you!
