pupils won't morph

I am mixing several G8M characters and have tried a handful of different character morphs and morphs eyes sets, and for some reason, my figure's pupils refuse to morph into slits (like a snake). None of the products 'require' anything besides G8M on the sale page. What am I missing?
update: I've re-installed
Genesis 8 Male Body Morphs
just in case, but I'm still stumped

Eyes Pupils Slit is in this one: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-male-head-morphs
I have several morph sets, including that one, and none are working. One even screwed up my LAMH fur when I tried it.
Do they work on a default G8M?
I'm glad you had me check that. The morphs do work on the default G8M. But when I applied the desired eye color from the Frogol set, it overrode any morph. Ideas on a workaround? Finding another 3DL red-eye like that will be crazy..
Related question ... Most of my cool eye sets are for iray, but because I can't get LAMH to work as it should in iray, I had to convert everything to 3DL. Do the tools I have that note iray, as well as, 'Daz Studio Geoshell Presets (.DUF)' ... would they also convert to 3DL? What render engine is 'Daz Studio Geoshell Presets' for?
Or do I save myself the stress and choose another eye set?
I happen to have Frogol so I took a look at the eye textures. The pupils probably are working the problem is the cornea is black so you dont see the pupil. Looks to me like the PA enlarged the eye but used the sclera for the red and then black for the pupil/cornea. You would have to rework the eye textures to use it with the pupil morphs.
There are work arounds to getting LAMH to work and iray if its taxing your system (depending on how old it is....), check out some of AMs animals and youll find some tips. Im thinking the sabertooth. Could be wrong, when I get some time ill see if I can dig them up.
Someone else will have to answer about the geoshells I have no idea as I don't really ever use 3DL.
