Older Version anyone?

I need a copy of 4.15, the 4.20 is not good for me, the Iray is to advanced and rendering takes too long for anything. Not fun at all.

    Broken how? Are you clicking the Sign In button at top-right - for some reason ZenDesk does not pick up on being logged in at Daz on the first attempt.

    Good luck to you. I tried to obtain older version almost two years ago. Got they don't hand it out which was most unfortunate because each new version almost always impacted my productivity when it comes to work be it for my own or promo stuff in one way or another. It would be mighty nice of daz to offer old versions so we can revert back to the one that worked for us instead of being forced to update to the newest version and suffer any problems that almost always arise. I don't see the issue if other companies like Blender or Krita can do it why can't daz? I'd be very intrested in knowing why is that the case. Why are not old versions of daz available to the users? All the way until 4.0.

    Krita and Blender are open source

    Daz studio is not.

  • If you've kept the installer for what you do have, you could try downloading and installing the most recent edition of D/S which is 4.21something.

    Have heard rumours that nVidia may have the latest studio driver fixed for use in D/S. However if that doesn't work well, one can download the Sept 517 something edition of the Studio driver which does work with D/S 4.21something.

    A few tips that might help: Make sure D/S has enough light in the scene, if figures are off in the distance, ditch the normals/displacement textures {nobody can see pores at 20 paces}, don't run other programs or browsers when rendering, if a particular model is causing grief, try it with a different Iray shader applied. Hide or remove from the entire scene anything not required for a particular render.

    That's not an excuse, but agree to dissagree.

    @Ilena

    You do not have to agree with Daz’s policy.

    However  that does not change the fact that your comparison to Blender and Krita

    is not valid due to the differences in licensing.

    So in case an update breaks products you have purchased so you no longer can use them, and they won't give you a version that works for these products, will they refund these no longer usable products?

  • Updates for such products, usually plugins, should not be updated unless one does have the latest D/S. And also [I have discovered] purchasing new plugins is pointless if one is working with an older D/S.

  • I hear your pain. DAZ support by email takes about a month. If you are lucky 2 weeks. You are better off getting help from users or other sites.
