GoZ for DAZ Studio 4.8 and ZBrush 4R7 bridge issues after system restart.
I have a problem with GoZ, DAZ, and ZBrush 4R7. ZBrush opens a new instance of DAZ when I hit the GoZ button, unable to modify the model I already have open in the original instance of DAZ.
I have fixed this by reinstalling DAZ Studio and GoZ for DAZ, however, when I restart my computer, everything is bugged again.
My DAZ Version: DAZStudio 4.8.0.59 Win64
My GoZ Version: DS4 GoZ 1.5.0.59 Win64
My ZBrush Version: ZBrush 4R7 P3

I've been having the exact same problem since updating to DS 4.8, I thought I was the only one.
I've also tried reinstalling both DS and ZBrush, that fixed it, but the problem returned after restarting my PC. I don't think ZBrush is the culprit because I've had ZBrush 4R7 P3 since I was using DS 4.7 and I didn't have this problem.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? It's very annoying, GoZ is completely useless now as ZBrush keeps opening a new instance of DS instead of returning whatever object I send from the original instance to it.
I hope DAZ is aware of this and someone is looking into the issue.
Somebody in this forum mentioned uninstalling GoZ, DAZ, ZBrush, and then perform a regestry cleanup. It worked...once...now Im back to square one. There is obviously an issue with the bridge.
I have the same problem.
While I have only owned Daz Studio Pro 4.8 and Zbrush 4R7 (both 64bit) for a few months, I have never been able to use the GoZ bridge.
Whenever I watch tutorials, the options they have in their Zbrush pop up window are very different from mine.

I have attempted to reinstall GoZ several times, updating the paths, but nothing has worked so far.
As of yet, I cannot use Zbrush 4R7 together with Daz Studio Pro 4.8. Even the import/export options are not working properly.
The result I get from the GoZ operation, sending a Genesis 2 model to Zbrush and back, is a model in Daz which don't have any polygroups/surface groups. The only bones visible are a few facial bones, the rest are gone.
Did you uncheck the Use Current Resolution when sending the model to ZBrush? Did you reset the resolution to base in ZBrush, if you divided there? What tools did you use in ZBrush?
I have the same problems when I export a model in .OBJ format from Daz and import it into Zbrush.
Even if I don't do anything with it, just export it again from Zbrush and import it back into Daz, the model has no surface groups and no bones.
Perhaps I should create a new thread for this.
I have uninstalled Zbrush and reinstalled it, reinstalled the GoZ bridge, emptied the cache, with no luck so far.
It seems the main problem is in Zbrush.
When I re-import the saved model back to Daz, without using Zbrush, the OBJ model has all surface groups.
However, when I import the OBJ model into Zbrush and attempt to export it in OBJ for Daz, it always loose the surface groups.
And what is your answer to my questions above?
In regards to the GoZ, I set it to "Use current resolution".
However, I can live without GoZ functioning as it should. I know many others have had that problem and they have needed to reinstall Daz, which I am not inclined to do.
The main problem is that exporting from Zbrush isn't working.
Did you reset the resolution to base in ZBrush, if you divided there? --- No, I have just imported the OBJ into Zbrush and exported it directly as OBJ without any modification.
What tools did you use in ZBrush? --- None. I add the tool (the OBJ file), press T, F and export.
Turn off Use Current Resolution - if the figure is subdivided, as the base humans are, that will instantly change the goemetry and so break the ability to load as a morph. For morphs you must export/bridge the base mesh, and the return geometry must be at the base resolution with no additions or removals.
Richard,
It seems to be working now. I remember I tried unchecking that box before, but now it's actually working!
Many thanks!
At least, I get the proper menu.
[Edit] - Now it imports as it should into Daz!
Too bad the export function in Zbrush is still having problems, but I can use the GoZ now. :D
