Product: Fitzgeraldplatz U-Bahn without U-Bahn rails?

From the product promos and description it seems the Fitzgeraldplatz U-Bahn (a bow to J.F.Kennedy, after whom many streets and places in Germany are named) is lacking the main ingredient for an U-Bahnhof (subway station) - the part where the subway cars come into play... no platforms included?
Will there be an extension/add-on delivering these?

Hey :) At the time of making it never really crossed my mind to include an actual platform or station. What with their being a number of options already out there. My initial idea was based on the connection corridors only. With your thoughts in mind though, I can certainly look at creating an additional set to address that issue if it's wanted?. Perhaps something more European styled/theme?

Sounds good to me. Not as trashy as an American Or as OTT As a Russian platform would be a welcome item in my runtime

I guess that's in Berlin then?

I'd like a set that had Marienplatz, it's U-Bahn & S-Bahn, the Glockenenspiel at the Rathaus, Fischbrunnen...but all that is a humongous amount of work.

The problem with those existing ones might be that they usually are american, with american advertisements, and all texts done in english, would mean the customer would have to adjust all this... some might do it, others won't... So I don't know how many people would buy a german subway platform.... I probably wouldn't, because I generally don't really need any subway platforms, american, german or french alike... wink

OTOH if one would manage to produce a simple *cough* texture set making a german (french/italian/russian/whatever) subway platform out of one of those already existing... less work, cheaper to sell, maybe worth the effort.. wink

@FWDesign Great job BTW! I'm looking forward to using this and filling it with lo-poly people. I certainly would like a European subway platform if you have the inclination. Thanks for Reflection; it's something else to add interest to an urban scene. I loooooove Hexad & Bikuben! I like this new direction you're going.

Totally with you on everything usually being American in style/theme. There is a distinct lack of a European styled platform, which tend to be very different in style. This set in particular is based around the Marienplatz U-Bahn, and Southwalk station in London. It's a somewhat amalgamation of both.  Yes, it would require a little work to create a platform keeping the same style, but I guess it’s the only way to keep things authentic, if you will. I don’t think just adding German wording to a US style subway would really work. It just would not have that same look or feel. You're very right with there probably not being much of demand for one. It's already quite a saturated area. Is it worth the work? Perhaps, if there is enough interest to cover that small niche requirement.

Thank you for the input. I’m giving it some thought in creating one.

The set is based on Marienplatz U-Bahn, and Southwalk station in London. I was going to go all out and replicate much of Marienplatz, but opted for a little artistic licence. As for recreating the Glockenspiel and the Fischbrunnen, absolutely a lot of work! But how good would it look if someone were to do it?

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback on the models and on the recent change of direction. There is more to come along the lines of Hexad/Bikuben, recently finished another set. I’ve barely really started to scratch the itch yet. And having been inspired of late by the likes of Dune etc, expect more to come in the same theme. Would love to see what you can do with Fitzgeraldplatz!

I thought Marienplatz was where some of the inspiration came from for parts, but well wasn't sure as it just seemed incomplete and I've not been all over Germany to know all about the various stations. I imagine those in east Germany might be a noticably different style than from west Germany. I think the glockenspiel would be great inspiration for learning rigging and materials but I have me doubts about anyone selling enough copies to justify all that work. That said, from what PAs state about making good DAZ 3D clothing, that is much more work, although I'm guessing sales for clothing can be orders of magnitude higher than most sets.

This is very exciting! I'm CPU only for awhile, but I'll post next week if all goes well.

@FWDesign This isn't much of a product feature since I had to dof it to match the figures, but it's going to be a very helpful set for me.

@xyer0 That's absolutely perfect. Really shows what the set is all about, the busy daily commute - My absolute nightmare, after spending a good year or two commuting in to the city of centre of Manchester on a daily basis, oh what a joy that was!

Really pleased to hear the set is going to useful down the line, looking forward to seeing some more :)

I really appreciate the support, thank you.
