Linking dForce visibility to a Conditional Graft?

I'm trying to set up some self-made clothing assets so that it's got conditional grafts to hide parts of the mesh (without the smoothing/subD issues you get by just using opacity), but I'm finding that in a dForce simulation that the clothing is reacting as if the hidden portions of the mesh are still there.

Is there a way to either set it so these faces become invisible in the dForce simulation when hidden or link in the surface's dForce parameters so that toggling the graft also disables an appropriate surface? (Which does have the desired effect on the simulation).

Well, no-one seems to chip in, but at this point, I will take a "I don't think that's possible" answer. (Which is what I suspect is the case and would appreciate someone confirming, but I was asking in case I was wrong)
