I have an old Daz store asset with RSL shaders. I'd like to convert the surface to MDL shader. How? I've poked around and googled, but nada.

Standard 3Delight/RSL shaders or custom?
Uh. How can I tell? Surface says RSL. It's from this product dForce Prison Inmate Clothing for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Females. I want to change to my own MDL shader/material.
If you select a surfaces in the Surfaces pane and look at the top-left it will tell which shader was used.
Ah. "Shader: Daz Studio Default (RSL)"!
OK, DS will convert that at render tiem anyway but if you want to tweak (or massively overhaul) its settings then select the object and surfaces, then apply the Iray Uber base shader preset to do the same conversion permanently.
Thanks. I had tried that but didn't see a difference in the viewport. But looking at the Surface itself everything did convert to MDL, preserved colors, etc.
Texture Shaded wouldn't pick up most of the potential differences, the Iray preview would already have the on-the-fly application of Iray Uber Base so not seeing any change after aplying the shader is expected. Note that thsi works only for the standard RSL shaders that come with Default resources - custom sahders will not convert at all and will have to be replaced and configured manually.
