categories content in smart content still appears in "lost and found"

Hello ladies and gents
I organize my content to remove it from "lost and found" in smart content.
But some keep coming back to "lost and found". In this example files are categorized to "lost and found" _plus_ to other categories.
I delete them from "lost and found" then save.
But they keep reappearing in "lost and found".
Any clue ?

Are you working with Daz Studio online?
I am working with DIM
and my product have meta data as seen in the screenshot above
also another product that I got recently (contrary to V4 above)
It has metadata, and I checked all its items, none is in Lost and Found, but the product is present in Lost and Found
... like 2/3 of my products
You are also working online in Daz Studio, so it is updating the emtadata from the Daz servers.
But you are still logging in to DS, which means the DAZ Connect inside DS is frequently 'updating' your metadata and often makes a mess of it.
Uncheck "Show Login Page" and "Automatically Login With Remembered Credentials" at DS Preferences
The original metadata for this product does not assign every asset to a category, only the DAZ Studio format assets (the materials presets, and a set of 10 poses).
Thank you PerttiA I modified my params.
I may not understand because when I check category for all files I see a category for each one and none is Lost and Found.
It is probably due to DAZ Connect having 'updated' the metadata - It is not the same metadata that DIM updates and it is not stored in the same location = One reason for problems people are having with 'Smart' Content.
Edit> Preferences> Content = Is "Show Hidden Vendor Categorizations" UNCHECKED?
When you remove a vendor categorization (uncheck) and reassign a new category, Daz Studio flags that vendor categorization to not display when this setting is UNCHECKED.
If you bring the asset into the Content DB Editor, you will still see the vendor categorization, but if you select the asset>right click and select Categorize, the vendor categorization will not be displayed.
Edit: And the vendor categorization shouldn't display on the Smart Content tab category, but you will still see the vendor categorization in the Categories library. This "feature" was added after Daz Studio 4.9.2.70 to prevent an asset from having no category (is my best guess) as I could permanently remove vendor categories in Daz Studio 4.9.2.70.
Sorry, I was referring to the original post, about V4.2 Base. Parker Road is another product, and another, unrelated, story. The older Poser formats generally do not have metadata, unless a Studio version was made (usually later), even then, it might or might not include the Poser format files, just the DAZ Studio formats. I hope that the metadata we get with DIM is IDENTICAL (at least functionally) to that from Connect. That was the promise.
I see in the screen caps from the first post that you do not have "Sync Product and Local Database" checked. In that case some information will not be saved. Also, do you have "Auto Export" checked (bottom of the dialog)? If so, changes will be saved to a new metadata file in the Runtime/Support folder. If you had previously accepted the changes with Auto-Export checked, the Lost and Found category would have been included, and will always return, because the metadata file is considered Vendor Data (as opposed to User Data). You can edit the existing metadata file to see if it explicitly sets a category to Lost and Found ([library]/Runtime/Support/DAZ_3D_4783_Victoria_4_2_Base.dsx).
To permanently remove the Lost and Found, the new metadata file (with the Lost and Found category removed) must be exported and re-imported (from DIM, or from Content DB Maintenance). It is the only way I have found to permanently remove vendor data once a product is installed. You can also replace the metadata file in the product package and re-install the product.
The metadata DAZ Connect downloads and 'updates', is saved in the 'Cloud' folder, and the metadata from DIM is saved in 'Runtime\Support' = They can be different and conflicting
I know where it goes. There should be no difference in the contents.
History has proven otherwise
Yes, it has, from what I understand, to many users' chagrin. I have never touched Connect, so I have never had the pleasure.
Thank you for your advice. To be honest I have not understood everything.
Regarding
I did not encounter this issue since.
Following your advice I have Edit> Preferences> Content = Is "Show Hidden Vendor Categorizations" => UNCHECKED
Regarding the fact many products are in L&F folder, I have started to categorize them and most of them are old content without categorization.
Typically those products have a folder in "content library > categories > Lost&Found" .
When I make sure the "content library > categories > Lost&Found > product folder" is empty (categorize then refresh).
When I delete that "content library > categories > Lost&Found > product folder" then the product disapears from "smart content > Lost&Found".
