Like to convert old textures for PBR

Like to convert the old textures of my Environments for PBR so it looks good when rendered in IRAY.

Like to convert the diffuse into Albedo so all the lighting information is removed, create normal map etc.

What software would someone already doing this recommend?

There are some tools to help with this such as Bitmap2Material. It can help you minimalize light influence and also creates all the PBR textures you could want(diffuse, normal, bump, height, etc etc etc etc etc).

I use it sometimes, but most of the time I just use my regular textures without manipulation and just adjust the shaders instead.

I mostly use it to make normal maps frankly. But it seems like it may help you because it does have controls to try and balance out light that came from the source texture.

Bitmap2Material, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag 2.

Think these are what I need.

I also use substance painter. But only for custom textures, not to mainpulate old ones. Not sure how it would be useful for converting as it's very much about painting from scratch. Useful for that though. Got it on steam sale earlier in the year. If you  buy the steam version you get a license to the standalone as well :) Standalone also gets sales sometimes but I missed it :(

Never used toolbag, but I use Marmoset's Skyshop for unity. That's neato stuff. But a quick glance suggests Toolbag is mostly about rendering. So you wouldn't use it with Iray. So yes it lets you make neato materials but not for Iray. For toolbag.

You're right. Thought I better start learning substance painter for painting new stuff.
