Clearly the best singer the band at least to my ears. Great songwriter as well.

I 'm astonished at how fast the time goes. I remember Christine Perfect from her Chicken Shack days and, for some strange reason I still think of her as a young female blues musician so I was shocked to see her age given as 79. Ok, I shouldn't be shocked because I'm 71 but the mind plays tricks with time and age.

Condolences. I was mesmerized the first time I heard "Over my Head" on the radio so long ago as a kid. I'll not say how much I've listened to her hits, but it's been and will be alot! I've very thankful for them because they sound so good and are unique in a smooth, understated way.

That was a NYT's Breaking News email yesterday and when I saw it, it was a gut punch. Christine McVie and Fleetwood Mac have been a constant of my life. Moved from LPs to Cassettes, then finally CDs. Universal music. I will miss her light in this world.

This one upset me. When I think of Fleetwood Mac, I think of her because her voice was so distinct and you could always hear her....even in songs where she was a backup singer and she was never listed as such, like in some of Lindsey Buckingham's and Bob Welch's solo stuff. The band embodied my early teens and in a way it feels a bit like my childhood died with her. RIP Ms. McVie. broken heart
