looking for a triangular portal or frame

I've searched for geometric shapes and triangles in particular, but the results are all over the place. Does anyone have some leads?

  • Couldn't you make this youself by using 3 modified cube primitives?

Is it something like this you are after?

  • https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-morphing-primitives for Poser, there is a triangle in one of the promo pics.

but to get exactly wht your looking for 10minutes in blender wihtout any knowledge of blender is also possible.  open blender insert primative, export OBJ import into Daz Studio.

I'm looking for something more intricate, like a stargate or portal I can texture and 'caeve' runes into, but maybe photoshop will be easier ...

Ahhhhh okay that's not what you originally asked for but....

there are several portals in the daz store magician FX work well.  There are stargate portals all over the web free

But are they triangular? Maybe I'm using the wrong search terms. That primitive product may work.

  • New portal product released today may be what your looking for

I made this, it's pretty simple and the textures are not finished (triangle section is supposed to be stone)... I don't have time to work on it at the moment, but if you want it I can work on it on Monday or maybe tomorrow if I have time...

The steps and triangular portal are separate pieces.

That's perfect!  Especially with the steps being able to be used separately. Makes it more diverse.

I didn't get a chance to pack it up yet, but this is what it looks like at the moment in whatever version of DS I'm using at the moment... (4.16.something?)...

Here's the model... I kinda rushed it and the textures are very basic and probably pretty terrible by DAZ standards... but it should be useable... I tested it on a my old MacBook, so I know it works on Macs and Windows 7.

Please let me know if there are any problems.

If I get around to it I might make a Poser version too, but that's a later me problem.

I love the side story you gave it, McGyver. Are you an author?

I've always found the drunk ones to be the best goat thieves.

Those Everyday Morphing Primitives are fantastic.  I use them all the time.  Just convert the surfaces with the Iray Uber Shader, then do what you want.  They really are incredibly useful in DAZ Studio.

I've added that to my list of grab-its, too. It does look useful.

Glad you missed out an 'r' in that admission. The theft of a groat (4 pennies) was a capital offence on occasion.
