Using Bryce with high resolution monitors

Using Bryce with my new dual monitor system is problematic. The screen resolution is set at 1920 X 1080. This makes all the icons on the Bryce toolbars microscopicly small. The same for the materials labs and terrain editor. In the terrain editor the text is so tiny I have to use the Windows screen magnifyer to read it.

With other non-windows apps, Corel Draw X7 for instance, it's not a problem. The "preferrences" settings allow for three size options for the command bars and icons; small, medium and large.

The prefernces in Bryce do offer an option to "use multipel monitors" but it's functionality is severly limited. The materials lab opens in the second monitor but it's half off the far edge of the screen and can't be moved. Nor can the regular toolbars be detatched and moved to the second monitor. When I got my new system about a month ago I was really psyched about being albe to use Bryce with dual monitors. It never crossed my mind that such an otherwise exceptional applicaton would be so inflexible in this regard.

I really like Bryce. I got my first version from Corel in 2001. I really don't want to switch now but, if I can't find some workaround for this, I won't have much choice. I can't use an application with command icons so small I can barely make out what they are. I don't understand why an application that offers so much doesn't allow for the toolbars to be resized or detached for use with dual monitors.

I'm beginning to think the only option that will allow me to continue using Bryce is installing an Oracle Virtual Machine, loading XP Pro on it and installing Bryce there.

Is there some secret about the Bryce toolbars I've missed all these years?
