How do I get dforce hair to look good when laying down, wtih animation?

I'm trying to make an animation that has a char laying down and performing a simple animation of breathing. I want to use HM Alessia hair, but it's long and when it transitions from either a memorized pose, or a modified pose where i've made the character sit up half way and transition to laying down, it starts to fly into the air. It does not settle correctly. But even if it has, it keeps trying to simulate more and more so the longer the animation goes the more the hair messes up. It doesn't simply lay the way it needs to it starts writhing around and then pieces of it start raising into the air.

So this would not work even if I got to the animation stage because it would look really stupid in rendering.

I started a new scene with a random test genesis 8 f to mess around with it and this is my latest result at 200 frames without the animation

this is the settings i messed around with, but as you can see obviously they're not right

  • Good day, I have not worked with that hair, but generally speaking you will probably want to increase the gravity noticeably so that it does not fly up (perhaps also lower the air resistance).

Furthermore, making simple objects ( like bars or planes ) that direct the hair or confine it to a certain area can be quite useful. Just turn them off before rendering.

Also, and it takes more time, but using more time to move from the up position to the down position could help ... things fly a lot faster and further apart when they have to move quickly.

It looks like you are on the right track ... do not lose hope.

Did you try to increase the density?

Move along here. Looks like you've already tried what I was suggesting (gravity).

Try changing your pose transition time from 1 to something like 3. If you get better results, but not perfect, try adding more to the pose transition time. Keep in mind, this can get painfully slow.  Get a drink and book because it will be awhile :)

    Also a couple of suggestions:

    - Shut off anything and everything that doesn't need to collide in the scene.

    - Create a plane that she can collide with on the floor

    - Move her, the plane and whatever needs to collide up closer to the world center. This will create less pulling. You can move it all back down after the simulation.
