How do I tell the installer to leave my 4.15 install alone?

I am tryin to install the newest version of DS, and it keeps wanting to uninstall my other version first. I want to leave that alone in case the new version is poop, and have my old version to fall back on.

You can't. You could back up thje installers, application and plug-ins, if you still have them and you can copy the entire application folder but there is no built-in way to leave an existing installation in place.

alright will stick with 4.15 for now then

  • What I do that works on Mac is, before upgrading, duplicate the application folder, renaming the duplicate to include the version number. Then when I run the installer, it removes the one in the original folder, leaving the duplicate untouched.
