Constantly getting logged in and out of forums and annoying popups

On my iPad in both Firefox and Safari (not sure about PC, I rarely use the forums on my PC) I'm constantly getting signed in and out of the forums. I click forums, it signs me out. I click again, I'm signed in, I click Commons, I'm signed out, I click Commons again, I'm signed in. I click a subject, I'm signed out and it starts all over again.  It took several minutes and tries to respond to a DM because I kept getting signed out. So frustrating!  Does anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it?

Also every time I open a sales page on the iPad in both Safari & iPad I get a pop up to sign up for emails. I'm already signed up and even if I try signing up again, it still continues to pop up! Every time I open a new product page! Is there a way to disable this/?

  • There is a long thread from fellow sufferers. One factor is logging in with multiple devices, I think as the older devices then have outdated cookies and need confirmation.

This is a brand new iPad. I don't remember this happening on my old one or my iPhone. At least not as often. How to I get rid of it?

  • It does seem to vary in severity, and I don't think anyone has found a solution.

  • An adblocker such as AdGuard or uBlock Origin should help with the popup issue through custom blocking rules. I blocked those in October and haven't seen them since, signed in or not.

AdGuard works with Firefox and Safari. It's available on the Mac Store or their website. uBlock Origin is great for Firefox and other browsers but doesn't work with the latest Safari per their website. uBlock is available through Mozilla's add-ons page. Both are recommended by Firefox and highly rated by users.

AdGuard's website mentions a "built-in action extension" for element blocking and uBlock has an element picker mode. Both have preview functions and AdGuard has some options to customize what you're blocking. You might have better results enabling Desktop Site. Both extensions blocking functions should be accessible through the add-on preferences and may mention blocking ads or elements.

If you run into problems you can unblock under User Rules for AdGuard or My Filters for uBlock, but I haven't noticed any issues from getting rid of that popup.

The store page constantly logs me out so it must mean that they don't want my money, which is fine and I oblidge.

I have the same problem every few days. Today is a 'good' day...

Oddly enough I have just started getting this problem more frequently. I know that if I login from my iPad I will have to login again from my PC but I very rarely do login from my iPad yet I am now getting logged out when I'm only viewing from my PC. DAZ has so many problems with online technicalities - both in the store and the foum - that I think they should contract a decent web design specialist to revamp the whole shebang.

  • It seems a bit strange to me that, when I open a Daz window on a different device, I appear to be logged in, then a message appears saying something like " hold on a moment while we log you out".  After which I immediately log back in again.  Not a big deal though, and certainly not something I'd ever make a fuss over.

I log out everytime I leave. If I happen to open the forums the next time before logging in again, I get the notice "Hold on while we log you out".

It's like one isn't logged out of the forums until one tries to open forums without being logged in.

I have no problem with other sites. They are some how able to keep me logged in on multiple devices. The only place that is a problem is on this site. And, it is costing DAZ money. Let me explain how:

    1) I come here and don't notice that I have been logged out.

    2) I shop the new offerings and pick out stuff to buy by adding them to my cart.

    3) When I go to check out, it tells me that I need to log in. Which I do.

    4) However, at this point my cart is empty.

    5) I honestly don't feel like going through several tabs re-looking for the stuff that I had already picked out.

    6) in frustration, I go to a competitor site and spend my money here.

Don't get me wrong. I prefer shopping here and I always come here first. But this type of stuff does tend to drive me away.

I can confirm this. The DAZ forum is the only one where I get this behavior it constantly logs out and gives 404 not found pages. All the other sites I use work fine. I use Ublock Origin so it may be related to the massive ad blocking with the DAZ pages. In my opinion the site should be designed to work fine with an ad blocker but may be DAZ thinks otherwise.

Thanks but the issue is on my iPad. Both on Safari and Firefox.

Not a bog deal unless it happens every second with a few minutes pause then back to login/logout madness. And it gets you back to main forum most of the time.

I have to force myself to still use this forum because of this extremely annoying issue which happens only one this website, again ONLY ON THIS WEBSITE!

That has been my experience as well ... it ONLY happens on THIS WEBSITE!!!!
