Making holes in walls?

I just tried to make a hole in a "wallpaper" planewith an Iray decal node, I made a cutout opacity mask for the hole that I wanted and the shape of the hole is spot on, only problem is that the hole isn't see thruogh, it's filled out with the default color, what can I do to make the hole see through? or are there any other ways of making a hole in a wallpaper in Daz?

Thanks for the help.

A decal functions as a projected overlay.

If you wan't a hole in the wall, you need to make the hole using the cut.out oppacity for the wall

There is usually more than one way to do something.  Instead of a decal node, place the hole that you want in the cutout opacity channel.  Here is an example of a plane with a wood texture placed in the 1000 in 1 nights set.  In an image editor, I made a square hole and a circular hole.  I placed my hole image in the opacity map.  If you want to place the hole in a specific place on an item that is not square, you may want the UVMap of the item.  Or just do trial and error.
