This was my favorite outfit when it came out and I've wanted a new version for a long time. I'm not sure a product has ever flown into my cart so fast!

I was so excited yesterday when I saw this was going to be re-released, but I'm very disappointed by the choice to replace the vest with that sweater and the lack of the holsters.
will this work on G8M?
Me too, but I miss Luthbel's customary sleeve folds & shoulder seam on the trenchcoat.
Looking at the promos, I am really not that impressed. the sweater vest makes him look like a college nerd and there is no gun holster. There seems to be aome missing detail like the folds and wrinkles the older version had. I tried the older G2 version on G9 and it autofit just fine for my tastes. I do like the leather trench in the texture expansion though
Agreed. I like the original MUCH better, even though I bought the new version.
It is a nice looking outfit for a male! If we hadn't been setup with the expectations of "Eldritch Seeker" for G9, I don't think anyone would have been disappointed. It is also a PA collaboration. We don't know how much each PA was involved.
I agree this one has a different feel from the previous, but I think that is to be expected. We do know from previous rounds (with things like the Wildenlander sets) that Luthbel does not do simple conversions from one generation to the next but makes a new item based on the same broad concept or idea.
Is the coat dForce? The description seems to imply that it is not. Would be odd to have updated the item to a new generation, and yet missed making the one long flowing item able to be simulated.
This probably has been addressed before, but how well do the original Seeker gun holsters autofit to later Genesis generations?
The coat is NOT dforce and I'm totally bummed. I could dforce it myself, but I never have much luck with it.
Works fine for me. Here is it on G9
It's not? Well, thanks for letting us know that. This would have been the first thing I've purchased for G9 along with that clothing converter to use on G8 people. And I too never have much luck dForcing items myself. Ah well, maybe I'll pick it up someday down the road, but I skipped the original one this whole time because it didn't dForce either, so...
Great looking character! This is what I like about G9: The possibility of NOT looking like a Daz character.
Some outfits like simple dresses, plain tunics and t-shirts, I have had success by making them dForce myself, so long as the poly count is under 40K or so. However more complex objects, like this coat, I prefer it when they have been created with dForce in mind. Otherwise pockets/buttons tend to fly off, and/or the item is much more likely to explode during simulation.
Could you take the coat into Marvelous Designer and run it there in the pose you want, and export it back?
Heh...I couldn't get the autofit looking good for the holster, but then again I haven't tried since G9 was brand new. It's been updated since at least once ;). I'll give it another shot.
BTW, how did you get the veins in the arms? Did you paint those on in post or transfer a morph somehow? Inquiring minds and all that....lol.
