Efforts for a GPU independent Raytracer?

Hey guys, I'm wondering since I just had to change the "Team", thanks to my trusty 1080 Ti of five years falling over - nVidia grew too hefty on their pricetags, Iray, as lovely as it is, only working on their cards. Are there any efforts for a proper, new, GPU independent main renderer for DAZ, or should I just go for Blender right away for proper GPU computing? Have a merry christmas you all!

If you want real independence, I'd say Blender is your best bet. No other app gets that kind of support from hardware makers https://devtalk.blender.org/t/2022-11-30-render-cycles-meeting/26749. It's like there's a hardware war going on and Blender is where they stage their battles. It's not the Cycles team's job to integrate CUDA or OpenCL or whatever like they did in the past, now each hardware maker develops their own plugin.
I pretty much gave up on Daz Studio after Nvidia's 20 series price hike. Recently, I bought a 3060 because it was such a good bargain (twice the performance of the 1080ti for half the price) but I still haven't really gotten back into DS. It was bad enough not being able to buy a GPU during the mining boom, but to see Daz pushing NFTs at the same time was a real kick in the teeth.
And to be honest, none of the other vendors, Apple, AMD, or Intel can match Nvidia on performance, even when you account for lower price, but it's good to at least have a choice.
DS 3Delight has a built in pathtracer, accessable through scripted rendering. Non of the standard DS 3DL shaders are compatible though. Compatible shaders along with all the scripts needed are free for all. Extra detailed users manual included;)
3Delight is CPU only and the DS version supports an unlimited number of cores.
