dForce Moonlight for Genesis 8.1 Females problem

I just tried out the dForce Moonlight for Genesis 8.1 Females dress. When I applied the full outfit, it reset the character's coordinates to 0, 0, 0. Has anybody else had this problem? Do I need to open a ticket?

Tons of Daz bundles have duf files not saved as they should be. Feet pose that move the whole Genesis, materials that load onto something else than what they should, etc.

Sure you could open a ticket, but you might wait a long time, or forever, for something not very important.

Add a Genesis 8 Female Dev Load to your scene. Load on it all dForce Moonlight parts one by one. Then save that as a wearable preset with the same name as the original. Replace the original .duf file.

Done, fixed. Takes 1 minute. Faster than a ticket ;)

  • That's probably true, since I guess it would have to go back to the PA(s) for a fix. Thanks. I'll probably do that.

Same for me. It appears that a full pose (every node) of the parent figure was saved with the outfit instead of just the feet and hands (for the heels and the handgun), and any other needed body parts. It can be easily fixed, but officially, it would take a ticket. I never noticed if any other wearable presets do the same, I always try them at zero then move/pose after. I did try a few others just to make sure (by no means exhaustive), and they stayed in place and retained the pose, but did pose feet for shoes and/or hands for accessories as needed.

  • Glad it's not just me. Thanks for the confirmation.

I suppose I should probably at least let support know about the issue.

  • Please do report it, I've reproted numerous instances and they generally get fixed quite quickly.

  • OK. Done.

  • It seems like this sort of thing could be caught before release by scanning the DUF files with a script.

I find poses that zap the character across the scene to be maddening.  Since the values for transformation are in the DUF files, why not just automate this stuff and do a scan any time an artist submits their product to DAZ 3D ?

I'm a former software guy, and this kind of simple screen seems like a natural to me, and would save hours and hours of customers' time and the support team's time.
