display order of scripts menu

In previous (to 4.8) versions of DS I could have sworn I was able to change the sorted order of customized scripts I ran from the scripts menu. In 4. when I go to my customize workspace and click that tab whenever I click on a script I'm trying to move I get the circle with a line going through it so it will not budge, right click at it's the same affair.

Is there a way to do this?

  • I am able to reorder the menu, in the Menus tab on the right. Try restarting DAZ Studio (if you haven't already).

not in front of that computer right now.

Is there a specific place your doing it from?

  • Just Window>Workspace>Csutomise, click the Menus tab on the right, expand Main Menus>Scripts.

Okay, I keep forgetting how to do this, and I keep finding this as the top google search when I do forget, but the answer is slightly incorrect now with the latest versions of DS.

In DS4.9 or later:   Edit > Customize  (or hit F3), expand Menu Tab on the right.

You can also add submenus to this, so you can organize your scripts by type ("Lighting", "Iray MATs" etc).

Edit is the old location for Customise, on a new isntall it will be under Window>Workspace.

That's weird.  I've kept up to date with updates, but the location is still under Edit for me.  By new install, you mean fresh install, I assume.

Either way, I'm just happy that this google result will show me what I personally need when I inevitably forget entirely about this again, lol.

Window>Workspace>Update and merge Menus should put the Cusiomise command in the Window menu, though given the apparent age of your layout you may have some unwanted rearrangement too if you do that (there have been changes in how user-modifications are tracked which may not have kicked in when you last updated). Saving your current layout first (Window>Workspace>Save Layout) would be wise.
