Genesis 3 Starter Essentials - confused with setup

Hi all,
I am quite confused. I have downloaded G3F starter essentials manually as I have done with the others too.
First when I open G3F it search for: \data\Age of Armour\Subsurface Shaders\AoA_Subsurface\AoA_Subsurface.dsf
(I went through the .rar of G3F essentials, can't find such). If I ignore this message, G3F does appear in the scene. If I apply the Jeane All Mat, same message pops up, but it does take the mat if I ignore that too - though mat have a quite light human colour.
Also, G3F is not appearing here: My Library/Content/Runtime/Libraries/Character/Daz people/ - only Genesis, Genesis 2 Male and Genesis 2 Female are there.
Under the above folder each have a .duf file, .py file. CR2 file but under the rar for G3F nothing of these files are listed. Where is it? There are also .png's for all the characters (facial images) but none for G3F, not even in the rar. Are there none of these for G3F as well!?
However, after installation, G3F appears here:
My Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My Library/Content/People/ all genesis from 1-3 (G3F subfolders: Clothing/Hair/Materials/Poses/G3F.duf/G3F.png (image with 3 on) /G3F.tip
My Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My Library/Content/Data/DAZ3D/Genesis 3/Female (here are subfolders morphs/projection templates/tools/uv sets/Genesis 3 Female.dsf
I am not sure if I have installed it to the wrong folders since this is a manual download/install.
Any help and advice are much appreciated.
Regards,
Laura

sounds like you may not have the right version of DS. what version are you using?
BTW Genesis 3 doesn't work in poser, that is why she is not in the old school runtime location. All Genesis Figures are in the Daz folders. But Since Genesis 2 and 1 worked in poser they made links to them in the poser folders too.
Version DS 4.8.0.59 Pro (64 bit). I have to admit first time I am on 64 bit since I have now a 64 bit laptop.
it may be a path issue. i think your DS may need the content paths updated. or things are installed in different locations...maybe.
Looks like you have copied the "content" folder over.Thats just a place holder to let you know that everything inside needs to be copied to your "My Library" folder
yours looks like this;
My Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My Library/Content/People/
Should look like this;
My Documents/DAZ3D/Studio/My Library/People/
Everything in the "content" folder when you download manually will have the same folder names as the ones in "My LIbrary" such as "data",, "people" ,,"Runtime"...These folders need to be merged with the exsisting ones in "My LIbrary"
I would suggest you use the DIM.It does all this for you automaticly and it also can check for updates to products in the event that bugs or other problems get fixed.After your library grows into the hundereds of produts and bundles it become very difficult to do this by hand.
I agree with the simplier part, but it's not difficult to manually install stuff. It isn't any harder when you have more stuff than it is at the beggining. Just depends on if you like to sort stuff your own way or if you are OK with Daz doing it.
For the OP however, I agree DIM may not be a bad choice. New machine with no existing system in place. Good time to start with DIM.
It also sounds as if you haven't installed the Default Lights and Shaders, or have them in the wrong place (extra Content folder again, probably).
Oops, I haven't installed that - it's under my manual download of DS4.8. Will do so.
